Another Successful Tour Wraps Up

The third and final genealogy research tour for the Spring of 2017 has wrapped up. This has proven to be another very successful tour.

The group has had five full days of research - three at the National Records of Scotland and two at the National Library of Scotland. Some have added research days at the Scottish Genealogy Society, the Glasgow City Archives or at family history societies/archives local to the area where their ancestors lived.

As we always do when in Edinburgh, we wrapped up our time together at the Taste of Scotland Show in the stables at historic Prestonfield House. This is always a wonderful way to end our time together and allows us the opportunity to indulge in our Scottish culture.

It has been a productive 10 days. Friendships have been formed. Connections to ancestors have been made. And our own sense of ourselves as part of the Scots Diaspora has been strengthened.
