A night to enjoy and celebrate our Scottish heritage

Following our final day of research at ScotlandsPeople Centre, we enjoyed dinner and a night of cabaret style Scottish entertainment at The Taste of Scotland Show at the historic Prestonfield stables.

Dinner started with a choice of Venison pate or cream of clapshot soup followed by a main of roast beef or salmon in moray sauce. Dessert was a lemon mousse served with meringue.

Following dinner we were treated to highland dancing, rousing songs and spectacular scenery as a backdrop.

Just before intermission the haggis was piped in, addresses and toasted. During intermission, we were given a sample of haggis, tatties and neeps.

The Taste of Scotland Show is always a wonderful way to wrap up our research trip. Sadly, it also signals the end of our time together in Edinburgh.
